Pro-Visual Publishing, in partnership with the Australian Veterinarian Association and the Veterinary Business Group, has released the latest edition of the Veterinary Industry Guide to Workplace Safety, with interactive augmented reality (AR) capabilities.
Working with animals creates a hazardous working environment depending on the task and type of animal involved. Veterinarians are at risk of receiving physical injuries from being bitten or scratched as well as potentially contracting diseases. Therefore, it is vital for health and safety information to be readily accessible as a safety reminder to those in the veterinary industry.
This year’s Guide features key health and safety topics that are most relevant to the veterinary industry, including animal handling, fever (coxiellosis) and safety guidelines for pregnant employees.
The incorporation of AR technology into the guide has created an opportunity for digital interaction within a print medium to increase engagement and retention of safety information. By downloading the free Pro-Vis AR app, vets can access additional information and resources straight to their smart device by scanning over any AR capable content.
“I would like to thank all the sponsors of the Veterinary Industry Guide to Workplace Safety 2018/19,” Pro-Visual Publishing CEO John Hutchings said. “Their support has made it possible for the Guide to be distributed free of charge.”
