At Greencross, we support our teams professionally through clinical training and peer collaboration, as well as providing coaching in non-clinical aspects of practice. Our teams are part of our growing Greencross family, with close to 170 General Practice, Emergency and Specialist Referral hospitals across Australia and over 800 veterinarians in our team.
Greencross Internal Education Program
Continuing education is central to everything we do, in fact we reward your efforts with an additional week of annual leave when you complete 20 internal CE points. We have tailored education programs for veterinarians, nurses and practice leaders, as well as modular year-long courses in special interest areas like ultrasonography and dentistry. Our teams have access to online education and face to face workshops, webinars and seminars. Study what you love with hundreds of online short courses to choose from and complimentary access to ViN, Vetfolio, Vetstream, Stress Free Pets and more!
In addition to full AVA Membership (VBG membership for practice managers) there are also scholarships available for CVE courses, College Membership exams and Diploma of Leadership and Management.
Vet Graduate Program
At Greencross, we designed our Vet Graduate Program to meet the needs of our newest colleagues. We understand that graduates want a supportive learning environment, mentorship, career progression and development, to feel valued and be provided with volunteer opportunities.
Our Vet Graduate Program is a structured 12-month program that focuses not only on developing clinical skills, but communication and “soft skills” through innovative programs. Dr. Alison Lambert is involved in coaching and delivering her unique course that is all about improving the way we communicate and therefore providing our clients with excellent service. Members of our teams that have been through this program found it invaluable.
Many new graduates want varied experiences and through our network, we provide our graduates with opportunities within our emergency and referral hospitals and not-for-profit organisations through our close relationship with the Petbarn Foundation. Our week-long induction program is also highly valued as it gives our new graduates the ability to meet our clinical and business leaders and know who we are and why we value working at Greencross. It is also a great way to network with the many other new graduates in the program and form lasting relationships! There are also ten online modules and six additional electives that graduates can complete every month and workshops in dentistry, surgery and ultrasound.
Annual Clinical Symposium
We strongly believe in supporting our team with events throughout the year, and our annual Clinical Symposium is the big event that we all look forward to! With your flights, accommodation and social event functions taken care of, you can relax and enjoy the weekend away. Our clinical symposium has the perfect combination of interesting clinical lecture streams, engaging local and international speakers and fun social events to catch up with friends and colleagues.
Flexibility and Paid Parental Leave
We’re truly committed to achieving work-life balance and our new Paid Parental Leave Program provides financial assistance to primary caregivers of any gender upon birth or adoption of their child. This is a welcome addition to our established Back to Work program which is a modular online CE program that can be undertaken during parental leave or upon return to work. We are here to provide you with the flexibility and support you need every step of the way, so that you have the confidence to return and the resources to succeed.
