Queensland animal-loving kids are celebrating the long-awaited launch of Australia’s favourite veterinary inspired camp, Future Vet Kids Camp, in Brisbane during the upcoming school holidays.
Having started in Sydney about 12 years ago, the five-day program is designed and run by veterinarians and led by veterinarian sisters Drs Audrey and Alison Shen from the Bondi Vet TV show and Aussie Mobile Vet.
The camp caters to kids aged nine to 16 years and promotes the veterinary profession as well as encourages responsible pet ownership, and an appreciation of all animals and their habitats.
The Brisbane camp will be held at the Holy Family Primary School in Indooroopilly on 28 June-2 July and 5-9 July 2021. Registration is open to ages 9 to 14 only, with expressions of interest accepted for older teens for a future camp
“We know there are a lot of pet loving kids in Queensland,” Dr Audrey said.
“Some have even travelled to Sydney just to attend Future Vet Kids Camp and begged for us to run the program in their home state. We are thrilled to finally announce our first camp in Brisbane.”
Future Vet Kids Camp will also be running its second virtual online program after a successful first run during last year’s pandemic lockdown, with kids able to join the classroom virtually and ask questions in real time.
