RSPCA’s annual Cupcake Day fundraiser officially kicked off this week (19 August) with over $500,000 having already been raised across the country to help the organisation combat animal cruelty.

“This is the sweetest way to help us help animals in need,” RSPCA NSW’s community fundraising manager Danielle Cameron said.

“The money raised will keep our shelters open and our inspectors on the road investigating allegations of animal cruelty. It will fund prosecutions against cruelty offenders. It will provide education programs to schools, and take us to remote communities with desexing, microchipping and vaccination programs.

“It will give us the chance to take in, rehabilitate, and rehome the creatures that find themselves with nowhere else to turn,” Cameron added.

Over the month of August, RSPCA NSW will introduce some of their supporters who have really backed this worthy cause including Barbara and the children at Cherrybrook Pre-School Kindergarten.

You don’t have to be a baker to get involved. Show your support by purchasing the sweet treats baked by your participating friends, family, schoolmates and colleagues.

Supporters can choose any day of the month to raise funds. Just register your fundraiser on www.rspcacupcakeday.com.au and follow the steps.
